Q: Is Spiketown running summer tryouts?
​
A: Yes, we will host a tryout for all age groups in an attempt to finalize as many positions as possible on our teams. We believe empowering families to make a decision at various points in their summer and fall can only be a positive. Based on the rules that have changed in our region, why would we not give you the flexibility and opportunity to try out if you wanted. Summer tryouts are simply an opportunity to finalize your club plans for the following season. Our entire summer club schedule only includes a two-hour tryout. We have not added summer leagues, small group training, lessons, camps, and/or warm-up sessions to ensure that your summer is just that - Your summer.
Q: Is Spiketown running fall tryouts?

A: Maybe, we will host tryouts for any age groups that are not finalized in the summer. Just like our summer tryouts, we want to run a fun and valuable yet efficient tryout to finalize our age groups. This has been the process in our region for many years, and we will continue to offer a quality tryout for the age groups that are not filled.
Q: Is Spiketown running the same group training model for team decisions?

A: Yes, all players in all age groups will be trained as a group for three weeks. Training will consist of technical skills, tactics, systems, and competition. After the three-week segment, teams will be finalized within each age group. All players, regardless of team placement, will have an opportunity to play for a complete season that will end with a large national style tournament in June. There is no way to accurately evaluate skill, character, and chemistry in one or two days of a tryout. We want to get to know our student-athletes and work to create the two most competitive teams we possibly can at each age level. This process is utilized in many clubs across the country, and we are confident it will help us make quality decisions.
